Czech Senior Golf Association
History
The Czech Senior Golf Association (ČSGA) stands as a key pillar in the country's thriving golf landscape. Operating as a voluntary organization, it directly builds upon the foundations of the original Czechoslovak Senior Golf Association, which was established in Prague in 1990. By bringing together enthusiastic amateur golfers who have reached senior status — defined as age 50 and above for both men and women — the ČSGA actively reshapes the culture of lifelong sportsmanship in the Czech Republic.

Core Purpose: Sport, Social Life, and Promotion
The overarching mission of the ČSGA is the cultivation, development, and active promotion of golf across the country. It provides a bridge between pure athletic pursuit and social connection. Rather than viewing golf strictly as a competitive endeavour, the association champions the sport as a vehicle for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong community engagement.
The primary pillars of its purpose include:
Fostering Team Camaraderie: Providing a vibrant, welcoming environment where players share a mutual passion for the sport.
Encouraging Active Aging: Offering structure for senior citizens to maintain physical endurance, strategic thinking, and cardiovascular health on the course.
Expanding Accessibility: Securing preferential tournament fees and benefits so senior players can frequently access top-tier courses across the country.
Main Goals and Competitive Structure
To transform its mission into actionable outcomes, the ČSGA maintains a robust annual sporting calendar. The association coordinates localized and national events, maintaining regional senior tours (RST – 120+) across areas like Moravia, Silesia, Central Bohemia, and East Bohemia.
The association's strategic goals are explicitly targeted through distinct programs:
1. Managing the National Senior Tour
The association motivates its members to keep their competitive edge by organizing the CR Senior Tour. This network of (25+) tournaments takes place at premium Czech golf resorts. Beside the competitive stroke game, it utilizes standard Czech Golf Federation (ČGF) handicap tracking to ensure balanced, fair and social play.
2. Elevating International Representation
A primary objective of the ČSGA is positioning Czech senior golfers onto the European stage. The association acts as the official organizing body for national team selections competing in:
ESGA & ESLGA Championships: Sending elite teams to the European Senior Golf Association (ESGA) and European Senior Ladies' Golf Association (ESLGA) tournaments.
The Monarchy Trophy: Coordinating the annual international matchplay tournament featuring rival squads from Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, and Hungary.
Bilateral Matches: Arranging friendly but competitive dual meetings with veteran teams from neighbouring European countries.
