In memory of Antonio Rebelo

We have learned, with great sadness, that Antonio Rebelo, president of the Portugese “ Associaçao Nacional de Seniores de Golfe” and vice-president of the European Senior Golf Association passed away on the 16th of November.

Antonio achieved a very important development of the Portugese Senior Association, organizing many competitions in the country and increasing significantly the number of senior members.

Elected in 2013 at the Board of ESGA, he played a major role in the definition of the “Mission and Objectives” of the European Association and volunteered very actively in the organization of the ESGA Senior Team Championship & Cup in 2014 in Algarve, and recently of the Masters Team Championship & Cup in June 2018 in Aroeira, near Lisbon. Both competitions were perfectly organized and all the players remember the permanent presence of Antonio, controlling all the details of the organization, answering every question, finding a solution to every problem while gratifying each participant with a large smile. Antonio was a very courteous person, making friends on and off the golf course.

We have lost a very active and appreciated Board member and also a very good friend.

Our most sincere condolences have been transmitted to his wife, Ana Maria, and to his family.
